TODAY is a good day! Why? Because my pink circle lenses came in today!!!! I'm so excited! I've let them soak and i've tried them on. They are BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL! I thought because I have brown eyes, that the pink would kind of melt into my natural eye color like Max Pure Pinks do, but no. I'm not lying when I say that these lenses are PINK. I mean PINK PINK lol. So here is a quick review on my lenses that were purchased from Kiwiberry1-Collection.com.

EOS Super Nudy Pink review:

COMFORT: 4/5. I would give them a 5 but I haven't worn them for more than 30 minutes yet. But I put them in and it felt like I didn't have anything in my eyes. When I first put the right one in, it was a bit scratchy, so i moved it to the left and no scratchy-ness. So, the scratchy feeling wasn't the lenses, but my STUPID mascara lol.

COLOUR: 5/5. Can you say Pink? I'm talkin' Barbie pink lol. I LOVE THEM LOVE THEM! They color doesn't fade on my dark eyes at all, and I know on Monday, I'm gonna get some looks for sure! I'm soooo excited about them. The pink color is AMAZING!

ENLARGEMENT: 3/5. My eyes are already pretty big (about 14.2). These are 14.5 and give enough enlargement to where I say, "okie dokey. Any bigger, people will think i'm an Alien." These look sooo natural. Plus my head is already large, so my eyes look proportioned hahahaha.
NATURALNESS: 3.75/5. They are pink, ya know. So no, it's not natural. But it looks good enough to where i could probably lie and say I had a birth defect that made my eyeballs pink lol j/k. The design is speckly, but not reptilian like. But from afar, they look pretty natural.

PRICE: 5/5. They are originally 20 bucks, but I got them for 30% off. An AMAZING price!
OVERALL: 5/5. For my first pair of circle lenses, these bad boys are GOOOOD.

Lady Gaga and Circle Lenses, My A*s!

For the past two days all I've been hearing is GAGA CIRCLE LENS GAGA CIRCLE LENS!

SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! If I hear her name and Circle Lens in the same sentence ONE MORE TIME I WILL SSSSCCCRRRREEEEAAAAMMMM!!!!!

Okay...for 1), NO ONE cares about Lady Gaga! The last thing I want to look like is her. Eww. Circle lenses were made popular in ASIA. Let me say it again. ASIA. It has nothing do with Gaga. Popular Asian singers and actors and asian young adults wear them because they want their eyes to look larger. And the Americans that wear circle lenses aren't paying "homage" to that singer or even Japanase anime. They just found a product that works for them. Gaga....you got to be kidding me.

2) I really wish that people would do research on these lenses before actually putting articles in papers/internet or segments on TV. Circle Lenses have the same risk as contact lenses. What's funny is that they even STATE IT IN THE ARTICLES, like NYtimes. With American Contact Lenses, you don't wear for long periods of time or sleep with them on, and all those other rules. Nothing different from circle lenses.

3) Circle lenses come in the most common sizes 14mm or 14.5mm. While people think this sounds huge, if you look online, Freshlook Colorblends come in the same size. Mine are 14mm. So technically they aren't different in size or "covering the whites" if you get a size that fits correctly. Now you see idiots who wear 14.8mm or 15mm circle lenses. They are stupid for wearing such large contacts that DEFINATELY ARE TO BIG FOR THEIR EYES. If they have vision problems later in life, that's their fault.

This is my opinion. Whenever an American industry is threatened by an outside source, we're most likely going to hear that their competition should be banned and illegal. For all we know, this could be a way for American Contact Lens providers to get the word out about circle lenses so they can distribute their own version of it in the future. Most American people do not wear contact lenses for vision problems, but for cosmetics. We change our eye color like earrings or shoes. So if western contact distributors are so "threatened" by imports, then do something about it. Make a lens to satisfy your customers needs, even if you didn't come up with the idea first.

Like Facetime on Iphone 4. Do you seriously think Apple came up with that? Asia's had that feature on phones for years.

This is all a marketing ploy. So don't be shocked if by the end of this year or next that you see a major lens provider come out with a "safer" version of Circle Lenses.If they were REALLY serious about the whole "ricky circle lenses" and all that good stuff, they wouldn't have put in their articles many accounts o f people stating that "they are having an amazing experience with circle lenses", "They have the same risks as regualr contacts" or "I consulted a doctor before buying Circle Lenses". Really....having quotes like that will DEFINATELY make me not buy these. Reporters nowadays....*shakes head*

Me No Habla the "Espanyola" + Samgyupsal + The Last Airbender = Happy Happy 4th!

It's always the holidays that make you feel totally upset when you're 1) by yourself or 2) single. But, I made plans for myself this time. I refused to be left alone in my house on this day while everyone in Miami is having a BLAST. So, I made a plan. I made a plan that would bring happiness to my life. Oh yes...I did.

While my other plans ended up being cancelled (*pout* I had a feeling too. It's karma, I think. I was so excited for it during the week, there was basically no other choice but for it to be cancelled :o\ ), I had a plan B to put into action. It went like this:

Wake Up
Do my hair
Samgyupsal
The Last Airbender
Fireworks

And yes, this was all by myself.

The one thing about me is that I'm too used to solitude. I'm so used to it that now I don't want it anymore, but I don't know how to break the cycle. I'm trying to be all "Hi, my name is Diandra. I don't know you, but you seem fun. Let me tell you about myself and you do the same and in the end, we can be buddies!"

How do you do that? I'm serious. How does one person have a group of 3 or more friends? Do I even have more than 3 friends in Miami? *thinks hard*

But that's besides the point....

So I woke up, and I did a little facebookin' and started to get ready. I washed my hair (I had deep conditioner in it overnight) and started to do my hair in twists. I had asked my girl Tiffny about how to do a cute beach hairstyle (bc of my first plans) bc I wanted to get in the water. She gave me an awesome list! So just bc I wasn't going to the beach, doesn't mean I can't do my hair in a cute style. So, I did the front of my hair in flat-twists, then did the rest of my hair in individuals twists. It came out cute! Especially when I put hte flower in! Thank you, Tiffny. I love you lol.

So I wore a cute plaid button up shirt and some jeans and gladiators, even though it was raining outside. But I didn't mind. The rain is my sunshine. Literally. I'd take rainy days over sunny days anytime. Anyway, I started my adventure to the Asian Market....then I realized that this Asian market doesn't have pork belly. So I went to a Spanish grocery where I usually buy pork belly.

I don't know if it's my Belizean background (bc Belizeans are still hispanic) but wherever I go in Miami, people think I can speak spanish. I mean, it's like they KNOW I'm not fully black. They must smell the black beans and rice and plantains in my blood. But omg, everyone in the markets (bc I went to two) were trying to hold conversation with me in Spanish. I almost felt bad that I didn't know it. Actually I do feel bad. But Spanish is soooo hard!!!! And now with me learning Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, I REALLY don't want to add Spanish to my list at the moment. But it's looking necessary *sigh*. Also, I must have something that older Spanish guys like bc a couple of them would stop me to say "How beautiful" I am, one asked me to marry him even. And me, being the smiley cute giggly girl when I encounter men, laugh it off and say "one day maybe".

I'm gonna get in trouble for that....I swear.

But I finally bought the pork belly and started towards Lucky Oriental Market. This is where my world was about to burst into flames.

I go inside and it starts of GREAT! They finally got Calpico, the tangy watered down yogurt drink, and my favorite ice cream, RED BEAN ICE CREAM! I was jumping for joy! So I knew that I had to get kimchi and I had to get gochujang. That's where it started to go downhill. I went through every isle, EVERY ISLE, and there was no gochujang. They stopped selling it! Bulgogi and Kalbi sauce they still had, oh yes, but SCREW GOCHUJANG, they thought. I swear my heart dropped. What's WITH these people!?! But then I thought, I still have a little bit of gochujang left at the house. That could work! So, I calmed down, but some snacks, ice cream, calpico, and headed on my way.

I stopped at Publix to get lettuce, bc all I own lately is spinach lol. And I got a six pack of Kirin Light. Now, I am 22 years old, so no underage drinking here lol. I LOVE Kirin Ichiban, Yuengling, Blue Moon, and Shock Top. Those are my beers. No one can tell me any different lol. If you haven't tried any of these, try them lol. You won't be dissapointed.

I went home after my purchase, and I got the cookin'! Samgyupsal is basically cooked pork belly and you eat in a little lettuce wrap with rice, garlic, gochujang or ssamjang (i wanted that too), and you wrap into a tight little pocket and stuff it all in your mouth. OMG it's soooooo good. I ate so much yesterday. You know that satisfied feeling you get that you have to actually undo a button on your pants? Well I didn't unbutton lol, but I had that nice "yum yum i'm full" feeling. It was beautiful.

After eating my absolutely delicious red bean ice cream, I put my shoes and headed to the movies to see "The Last Airbender". I heard a couple times that it was AMAZING, so I thought okie doke! Let's see. When I get to the theater and to the box office, I ask for a ticked to the movie.

"Just one?" the guy asks me.

"Yup." I reply.

"Only you?"

"Yes, only me. Just me."

Can you feel how aggravated I was? He looked at me like he felt sorry for me or something. I wanted to choke the guy. But what do you expect from a 외톨이야? But I still haven't grown used to those looks lol. So I walked into the movie theater, giggled at previews, then the movie began.

Bad Acting....can I just say that? OMG bad acting. And I kept thinking, it's okay, what do you really expect from children, but that's not a good excuse. Dakota Fanning is an amazing actress, especially as a child. Emma Roberts, um...who else? You know what i'm saying though, right? But in the end, I LOVED the movie bc the acting was bad, but the action! OH THE ACTION! And the water bending, the martial arts. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I'm officially a member of the water tribe. I must be lol.

After I left the theater, I was so hyped up. I didn't want to go home. I was dancing in my car and I knew that I would not be satisfied until I saw fireworks, then BAM! Fireworks lit up the sky. I literally hit the gas and followed the sparklys and found the park where people were setting them off. Beautiful. Absolutely nice. It was about 20 minutes in that I started thinking of my brother and my mom and how much I missed them. How AGAIN I was alone on a holiday where you needed to be surrounded by other human beings that you cared for. It sucked, that feeling. It was actually messing up the fireworks for me. So I went home, grabbed a beer and sat on my car and watched fireworks for another 2 hours. When I was ready to give up and go to sleep, I got a text from someone :o) and it made me happier than I thought or actually happier thnan it should. I had to rethink for a second, but that's another post lol.

So in the end, even though some things brought me down, I had a fun July 4th by my lonesome. I enjoyed it, I ate great, and I saw a fun movie. What more can you ask for, yeah?

The Call of the Sea....

Ever since I was born, I had been a "Water Baby". Actually before I was born. My mom would always tell me that during when she was pregnant with me, her stomach was HUGE. Not because of me. I was small, but because I was surrounded by so much water hahahah. I had my own little ocean to swim in. So yea, I've loved the water forever. When I was 10 years old and set up my own email account, it literally was "Water Goddess". At 12 my mom had a white skort with the words WaterGoddess airbrushed on the front lol. I feel soo connected to the ocean, the moon, and the actual element of water, that my brother actually thinks I control the rain.

There was always 2 days out of a month that I would go to the beach. On a full moon and when the waves were extremely still and calm. I would literally be in my car at 12:30am for the 30 minute drive, park my car, go to the nearest lifeguard chair and sit there. For 2 hours, just sitting there with nothing but me and the waves and the moon and the stars. It would be so quiet..nothing but my breathing and the sound of water meeting sand. The wind would blow and....I finally felt like I was home, that I could think.

Now that I've moved, I live in a place where I SHOULD have already been to the beach, but I've just been so busy with school and work. But last night, the moon made herself known to me lol. It was the night after it was full and I could see her through my window and she was screaming at me for neglecting her for so long. Six months to be exact. And for hours all I could think of was the water and the waves. I was lying here in the dark, trying to sleep, but I literally could hear the ocean in my head. It was terrible. I couldn't sleep the whole night. I was restless.

So, I've decided that before the month is up, I should go to the beach. It doesn't matter how late. But I need to just lay there with the stars. I feel like a fish out of water. I feel so dry and unfulfilled. I feel...lost. *sigh* I know this whole post sounds so poetic lol hahaha, but it's the truth. My kind of people are a rare kind to find. But I know someone out there feels the same way as me sometimes. I must have been a dolphin in my past life hahahaha.

Happy 1 Month Anniversary To...My Hair!

My Hair In Flat-Twists For Work

Yes yes yes. It's my hair's one month anniversary. I realized it while watching PhillyDiva19154's "I Want Natural Long Hair-Length Check (June 2010)" video. While she was stretching her hair to see how long it was, I was thinking, "Damn...I really need to trim my hair today. It's been a month."

It's been a month?!?!?! I survived without putting heat in my hair or relaxer for one month?!? That's 31 days! I'm so proud of you hair. And my hair then said she was proud of me lol. She looked soooo cute for the first day of classes for Summer B at school today. Good job hair, even though humidity got to you in the end and we had to hide you in a beret for Statistics earlier tonite. Sad, but it's okay. You were still cute. (picture of today below)...

A lot has happened for my hair in one month. I've discovered a lot of things. For one, Castor oil is no joke. I use Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil to seal at nights, and my goodness. In just two weeks my hair got thicker. My hair to me was really thin once I took it out of braids, but now i'm like "Damn, I have a bush on my head." I can't wait to get liquid castor oil to see if it makes a difference.

The second thing I found out in a month was my natural hair texture. I know! I've never known my natural hair texture because since I was 4 or 5, I've always had braids and relaxers in it. That's 17 years worth of damage, people. So, for one month I was freaking out about having scab hair (which I still think I have). But then one day, I had just bought the Silk Elements Mega Cholestoral and wanted to try it out. I put that thing in my hair and after 10 minutes (with it still in my hair), I got this!

Do you see what that is?!? That's CURLS baby! At the nape of my neck, i'm completely natural. I had cut my relaxed ends off after taking out my braids. What do you think that texture is? 3C, maybe 4A? I'm trying to find a way to keep those curls AFTER I use the cholesterol, but I won't truly figure it out until my whole head is natural. I'm really praying for 3c hair, because my brother at the back of his neck has 3C. I'm crossing my fingers! (But I love 4A too!)

Third thing I learned was finding the right products is a B*TCH! I'm tellin' you, there is nothing I wouldn't give for a frickin' expert to come down from Heaven and say, "Diandra...." in the angelic voice lol, "Diandra...these are the products that will make your hair grow long and fast. Take this, my child and be happy..." *floats away*

"Thank you, Natural Hair Expert Angel! Thank you!" *I wave to the sky*

But life's never easy like that. You have to waste money on bad products to find good products. That's the only way the universe can stay happy and balanced. But truthfully, in one month, I have grown to love my hair. It's fun to do at night, I love cowashing, and I've become a closet product junkie. Well, now i'm out the closet cause I just told y'all, so I declare that I am A PRODUCT JUNKIE!

I'm not going to check my hair length, because like PhillyDiva said, one month won't show a lot of progress. Three months though....that's a whole 'nother ball game. I can't wait until *holds out fingers and counts* August! I can't wait until August! What's even better is my Mommy's going to be here for her birthday on the 21st/22nd (we still don't know what day she was born for real lol). She doesn't see me except for once a month, so she'll know for sure if my hair has truly grown!

Love your hair, people. It's truly your best friend. If you take care of it, it shall grow. Oooo, I should do that in that weird whisper voice in "Field of Dreams".

Sorority Life is a Facebook game that is crazy addicting (I blame Tiffny lol). They just put in all these new features like "Going to Paris" and getting boyfriends/sweethearts. Mine looks like Daniel Henney. NO JOKE lol. Because one of the goals of the game is to get as many outfits as you can (bc it makes you more powerful then other girls), I've seen a lot of outfits on there that made me go "Man, that's cute". So I decided to make a look based on my avatar's current outfit. This outfit is labeled Hobo Chic on the game (based on Paris fashion) and I absolutely loved it. What do you think?

What would you say this feels like? Boho? Vintage? I don't know lol, but I love the mix of colors. Knee high socks are a trend for 2010, and socks paired with open toe heels are another. So I paired the yellow socks since the tunic has yellow in the flowers and a blue cardigan for an offset color, but it's also in the flowers on the tunic as well. LOVING IT! I feel like I'm on a roll :o)

I discovered Looklet.com today through a blog I came across (can't remember it at the moment lol, sorry) and now I've become completely obsessed with it. It's like Polyvore, but with actual MODELS in the clothes! So now, whenever i'm reading a magazine or see something on a blog, on YouTube, on a random celebrity interview lol, I can now make it on this site!!! So this is my first outfit!

Thigh highs and tunics are seriously my favorite summer trend for this year. On top of that, a lot of ethnic items are coming into play as well. I'm dying for a pair of thigh highs and now looking at this outfit, I'm dying for this as well. I'm loving that necklace and the fact that it's from H&M makes it even better because it's accessible. This outfit may just be my very first for the summer!

Diandra♥Fashion: Miranda Kerr (model)

I was signing up for online sample sales (where I found an awesome Christian Audigier tote for 75% off), when it dawned on me that SERIOUSLY I need to see what the spring/summer/fall trends are for this year. When coming across the first trend "Hot Pants & Boyshorts", I found the most beautiful model i've ever seen. Her name is Miranda Kerr and we all know her from the famous (almost said infamous, Tiff hahaha) Victoria Secret's Angels. She had the brown hair with mucho curls, the small face, the pouty lips, my rising jealousy (I wasn't supposed to admit that). But in these pics that I saw her in, I was AMAZED at how...versatile in modeling she is. The orange blonde hair fits her so well that I didn't even know she was THE Miranda Kerr. The photographer gave her almost a Manga/Japanese Anime feel with the Schoolgirl/catholic school setting. She was truly very beautiful in this shoot. Miranda Kerr is now one of my favorite models. Plus she's ROCKIN' those hotpants and thigh highs! I have to find this issue in stores!

When It Comes to Pride & Prejudice or Jane Austen...I Really Don't Think Twice.

I knew I shouldn't have spent the 12 bucks, but I did. I mean how many times do you come across another adaptation of your favorite book of all time? So when I just happened to trip into Pemberley.Com, I got this sudden urge to buy another version of Pride and Prejudice as well as other versions of Jane Austen's books turned films/TV shows. So, I started going through Amazon.com and found "Lost in Austen", a modern Pride and Prejudice on Speed or Ecstasy story lol. I know, it's weird, but really there no other way to describe it hahaha.

It's about a girl named Amanda Price who is a major P&P fan (like me-self), who ends up getting sucked into the story while trading places with Elizabeth Bennet. In this alternate/fantasy world, she learns a lot of dark secrets of the characters, some you REALLY would have never seen coming. She tries her damndest to not change the story, but if you fall in love with Mr. Darcy, I don't think you have much of a choice lol. On top of that, I loved it when I watched it on Youtube, and for $9.58 for a spankin' brand new copy....I really had no choice. I bought it. I bought and I'm not ashamed to say I did!

I don't know how I became such a major fan of English/Victorian themed films and stories. I used to despise them. But I guess when you get older, you start to understand it more. Because of that, and my mom, I now own some adaptations of Pride and Prejudice and other Jane Austen films. Wanna see?

For my mom, we got the second BBC remake of Pride and Prejudice on DVD when I was what? 15 or 16 years old. You know the one I'm talking about! It was in 1995 and had Colin Firth (sexy man) in it. This was at a time when I DID NOT want anything to do with this film. But I remember wanting to spend time with my mom and sitting down next to her, my head in her lap, and just becoming engrossed in the film. It had a lot to do with Colin Firth's sexiness lol. But the thought of a man who showed absolutely no interest in this female WHATSOEVER all of a sudden says he's head over heels, shocked me! Can love really be like that, I thought? Can someone whom you believed hated you with Hell's fire actually be the one? God, Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle are probably the most AMAZING actors I have EVER EVER seen in my life. After that remake, Pride and Prejudice imprinted itself on every piece of my being. It's actually kind of weird. This story had changed the way I thought about romance. I wanted a man just like Fitzwilliam Darcy. I even named my teddy bear after him! Actually I named him Benjamin Darcy...Benjamin fits a bear better. But it was still Darcy at the end!

After that, there was no end. No end! I wanted more and more of P&P, and after watching the one from 1995 and loving Jennifer Ehle, I had my own little dream cast for a newer one in my head. As Elizabeth Bennet, I always felt that Keira Knightly would be amazing in it. She had the spunk and the feeling of a headstrong woman. I believed she could give Jennifer Ehle and Lizzy Bennet justice. When I saw in 2004 hat they were remaking it for 2005 WITH KEIRA KNIGHTLY, I freaked! I thought I was psychic or something hahahaha. But no, I freaked and my mom freaked and we freaked together. Matthew McFadyen...omg omg omg. The sexiest Darcy by far. BY FAR. I get chills when i think of him as Darcy. I fell in love with him on the spot and now, whenever I watch the ending when he says "You've bewitched me body and soul", I still cry like a baby. I cried in the theatre and I cry everytime I watch it and believe me, i've seen it over 100 times. Isn't that pathetic?

After that I bought Bridget Jones Diary, where Colin Firth came back with his role as Darcy. Hugh Grant + Colin Firth equals ULTIMATE SEXINESS!

And then I bought Bride and Prejudice because I love the producer Gurinda Chadhar. She brought Bend It Like Beckham to the big screen and introduced me to another love of my life Johnathan Rhys Meyers. But Bride and Prejudice is a "Bollywood" type film, which made it so much fun to watch.

Also, if you didn't know, You've Got Mail is a version of Pride and Prejudice as well. Didn't know that did you! It's because your not a Janeite! hahahaha j/k. But yea, Tom Hanks as Darcy and Meg Ryan as Elizabeth Bennet, not the names of the characters in the movie, but you know what i'm sayin! Anything with Tom Hanks or Meg Ryan, I will watch. I can watch You've Got Mail over and over and over again.

For my mom, again, she wanted the another BBC adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, so we bought the Jane Austen Collection off of Target.com and now we have the 1980s version along with all the other 1980 versions of Jane Austen's books (Sense and Sensibility, Emma, etc).

So those are all of my purchases of Pride and Prejudice and now that I think about it, there is still one more that I have to buy: Pride and Prejudice, A Latter-day comedy. Oh! and the 1958 version, I believe. Hahaha, but I think i'm going to make another couple posts of all the Jane Austen films I have in my collection, like Emma or Mansfield Park. I got many more adaptations hahaha..

Sorry to have bust this long post on you! But I just wanted to tell you guys about it! You must see Pride and Prejudice. If you thought you knew about romance, you seriously have no idea until you have seen this :o)

Iphone 4: Finally! America has VIDEO CALLS!

I shouldn't be excited because of one reason. I can't afford it. I can't afford it, and I dislike AT&T because they want a large ass deposit. But my goodness, the Iphone 4 is probably the most amazing phone to hit the American market because we finally have something that the whole continent of Asia has been enjoying for years.

Video Calls, dangit! VIDEO CALLS!!!!

You don't understand how jealous I am when I'm watching Korean variety shows or Japanese dramas and see these people chatting to their best friend through video calls. I kept thinking, "What the fudge! We're America! Why the HECK don't we have that too?"

I know, it sucks because I pulled the "American Pride" card, but hey! When you grow up thinking that you live in the most wealthiest country in the world, when someone from another country has something WAY MORE COOLER, you think "what the f*ck did we do wrong?"

But i'm so excited about this because since Iphone has done it first for America, other companies are going to catch on as well. I'm really hoping Virgin Mobile will jump on it soon by accepting Iphones as a compatible phone for their prepaid plans in America (bc I think they do it in Canada).

Yes, you heard me right. I'm a Virgin Mobile user. And I love it. Virgin Mobile doesn't have hidden fees and they don't screw you over (like T-Mobile and Sprint has done to me). Because of them screwing me over with crazy hidden fees, it has damaged my credit and now I can't get the ONE PHONE i've been waiting for my whole life. How unfair is that, eh?

But anyway, FaceTime is what this video calling is called. On top of all that juicy goodness, there is also Imovie, where you can edit videos because now when you record videos on you Iphone, it's in HD. Yup, HD. God, life is b*tch when you're broke. Why don't I have any rich uncles somewhere?

On June 24th, according to Gearlive.com, Iphone 4 will be for sale starting at $199. That's if you get the 2-year plan i'm guessing. If you want to pre-order this phone, I have to say sorry because the pre-order has been suspended due to high demand. But while you wait, and fantasize like me bc I'll probably never get it, check out Apple's video on the new Iphone 4G. Enjoy! And don't drool on you keyboard while watching :o)

Everyday I study....EVERDAY I study. It's kind of sad how I have no life due to me constantly studying. And right now, I should be studying, but i'm sleepy and I want to take a nap..

So I will.

I will wake up in an hour, pull out my microeconomics book and sigh. From 3:30pm to 2:30am, I plan to write two 500 word essays and read four chapters which will probably equal up to more than 100 pages. Now I love to read. I read 40 chapters in 4 hours once. That's almost 300 pages. So I don't exactly understand how in Microeconomics it takes me 1 hour to read 13 pages. I don't get it. I read 200+ wpm. WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO READ A FRICKIN' CHAPTER IN MICROECONOMICS???

In the end, I hate economics. I really do, and in the end, I'm getting a D in the class because no matter what I do....no matter HOW MUCH I STUDY....I still get Ds on my tests. Isn't that something? It's like my brain is holding a middle finger up and refusing to recall anything I had read for the past two weeks. What is going on!!!!????!!!

I have got to start taking vitamins. Maybe that will help. Either that or start taking classes that my brain likes...and it only likes Asian languages and culture classes.

Don't care what anyone says, but that hair on 106th & Park is absolutely the business. Plus the hair in the "Massive Attack" video....oh god. I want green mermaid hair. Now, since she has pulled off the green hair, don't be shocked if you see other African American girls....actually ANY girl in general do the green hair. I love how in the video it isn't GREEN, it's a green with highlights. It almost looks natural (well, as natural as green hair can look lol). I might just rock a green streak for the summer hahaha.

Nicki Minaj is seriously one of my idols next to Christina Augilera and Sade lol. I know, weird mix. But Nicki is someone who doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. She's a rapper who is a GIRL, not a girl who wants to be a hard rapper. Her raw sexuality is what sets her apart. Plus she has this nice mix of Japanese Pop/Fashion Culture. I want to be just like her: Confident, Sexy, Risktaking. Green hair can go TERRIBLY WRONG. But with her, god, she pulls it off so well. I love you, Nicki. You are someone I totally look up to.

True Blood Is My New Bloodsucking Love

I didn't want to become this person. I didn't want to become this person. Well, I kind of already was this person. I loved the thought of vampires and the stories that I read. It was always dark, romantic, seductive, extremely sexy. I wanted to be that girl sitting in her room who knew that the vampire that was about to come was something I shouldnt be looking forward to, but still do.

Can't help it, why? Because 1) I'm a writer and 2) I'm a pure romantic. I've read a lot of vamp and werewolf stories. Own all 3 Underworlds, Interview with a Vampire, Queen of the Damned, read the Twilight Series (Even though I can't stand Bella), watching the Vampire Diaries (Even thought I can't stomach Elena). Actually Twilight gave me a temporary reason to not watch Vampire Diaries and True Blood because I can't STAND a woman who is extremely week to be in love with a vampire. When you're with a Vamp, the last thing you need to be is "Oh, help me! Help me! I can't live without you, so now I'm going to through myself in other situations where I could get killed. Love me and only me!" Oh and don't get me started on Bella in New Moon. I wanted to kill her that heifer!

But then I found True Blood, after avoiding it for so long. I LOVE this show. For the past 3 days, all i've been doing is watching Season 1 and Season 2, loving every minute of it. I love how Sookie has grown as a character. She didn't go all week and Bella-like, trying to kill herself or have a weak personality. She's not obsessed with Bill. Instead she is strong, cares for other people, and is extremely strong. She's not stupid (sometimes), but everything she does is for a reason and seems to always ends well.

The characters, actually, are really well-developed. Now i've never read the books, so i don't know how they differ, but so far I love how all the characters compliment each other. You got your hard stubborn Tara who's friends with "love everybody" Sookie who's brother is the town idiot Jason lol. Every character is different, but totally entertaining. I don't know how it would be if Jason wasn't an idiot lol.

I would write more, but right now i'm on Episode 8 of Season 2 and Sam just found Daphne with her heart cut out in the freezer, so I have to get back to y'all. But all in all, WATCH True Blood! Watch this show, it's not like all the other vampire show i've seen. Sorry this isn't a review, but it's just me talking about my current obsession lol.

To Asia Or Bust: Ex-Blackstreet Member Teddy Riley to debut Asian Girl Group

Who would have thought, huh? For a long time, a very long time, I've been waiting for someone of Asian Heritage to bust out in the American music industry. When BoA and Se7en came, I was truly excited! I love BoA and I love Se7en, and those two are basically the King and Queen of K-Pop. Buuuttt, it didn't really work out for them did it. Se7en's video played once (I think) on BET and BoA, though hitting the top on US Dance Charts, getting on entertainment weekly shows, there really wasn't much about her either.

Now, there is a dance movie called Hype Nation being made, where the cast from what I have seen is all Asian. Former 2pm member Jay Park will be taking the lead as well as working for his musical debut in America. There is another lead in the movie, Jay Park's sister, who has been casted. One of the seven girls above has that role.

These girls are a new group creadted by former Blackstreet member, Teddy Riley. Riley is a famous producer in the R&B/Hip Hop genre who has worked with many artists, including Michael Jackson. He created this group about three years ago, and since then, they have been training. There isn't much about this All-Asian girl group, but I can't wait to see where they will go. They are said to debut in America as well as Korea, China, and Thailand.

I'm really hoping Teddy makes the U.S. the first priority for this group. Asians have yet to truly bust out in the music scene here, and now more than ever we need diversity. There's only so much Blonde hair, pop singers with guitars and high school crushes I can take lol.

Review: NewShampoo?!? Mill Creek's Biotin Shampoo

So the shampoo I was using for the past two weeks since i've taken out my braids John Frieda's Root Awakening shampoo. I HATE that shampoo. I only got it because my mom and brother supposedly "love" it and I was interested in the peppermint oil in it. Peppermint oil stimulates the scalp and hair growth. But the Root Awakening made my hair field sticky after washing it and dry...so I started looking for all natural organic products.

I'm staying away from sulfate and mineral oils and all that good stuff. So I was looking at Hairlista and Long Hair Care Forum and found Biotin Shampoo by Mill Creek. Biotin is an awesome vitamin people take for hair growth, so to find a shampoo with this ingredient, I was very excited!
I went to Vitamin Shoppe and bought the shampoo for $7.29. I went home excited to use it lol, literally. Opening the shampoo, it had a really nice milky creamy peppermint smell lol. Sooo, when I started to shampoo my hair, I noticed I didn't get any lather. For some reason, that's been happening to me lately lol. Even with the John Frieda, I didn't get any lather. But I recently found out that if your shampoo lathers, that means it's getting oxygen instead of all the dirt and oils on your hair. So first round of shampoo was no lather. Second round....I finally got the bubbles lol.

Unlike the John Frieda that made my hair feel sticky after washing it out my hair, this one made my hair feel really soft, which I wasn't really expecting hahaha. My scalp was a little tingly bc of the peppermint oil in the shampoo. I really liked that. Plus knowing that bad things weren't in my hair....made me a happy lady.

All in all, I liked the first wash with the shampoo. It was a nice little bubbly experience. Let's see how it is next week and i'll see if I will recommend it. But so far so good!

To Asia Or Bust: T-Max Comeback and Sexy Asian Guy With Dreads?!?

T-Max is a group I really never noticed. I'm for serious. All I know is that they had that really annoying song from Boys Over Flowers called "Almost Paradise". Almost PPAAAARRRAADDIIIISSSSEEE! Oh, god hand me an asprin.

But now, the youngest member Yunhwa went off to the army and two members have been added, one specifically who made his first appearance on SuperStar K (a Korean American Idol lol). There whole genre, way of singing, appearance has done a TOTAL 360, and I AM LOVING IT.

They have one of the most UNIQUE and ENTERTAINING concepts i've seen: German/Russian Revolution. On top of that one of the members got dreads, and he is INCREDIBLY fine.

T-Max, though talented has always been underrated as a group. I believe it has to due with their management. Really bad promotions. But then Kim Joon (the blonde one lol) became a member of F4 (a pretty boy group from a Japanese manga that became live action) and the group got sparks of interest. Yunhwa then went on Maknae Rebellion (a show that brought the youngest of music groups together to do challenges) and another spark of interest went off.

And now they have THIS concept....oh goodness, if they don't get popular off of this album, something is really really wrong. The song, in my opinion is better than SS501's comeback song "Love Ya", and almost ALMOST a tad bit better than "Bonomana" from Super Junior. I've had it on repeat ALL day, on top of that it's the first song on this blog's playlist. Sit back, Listen, it's really good.

But goodness me, have you seen Min Chul? I didn't even recognize him. I feel like he has this whole rebellion look down. He's wearing those dreads with confidence and his voice.....oh lordy! Love him. He just looks so sexy lol. There's just something about a man, no matter how what skin color, with NEAT dreads. Not those nasty ones, but the neat clean dreads lol. I mean look at Jason Castro....omg....I'm making myself crazy here.

I also loved that in their comeback, they used the flags as props in their choreography. It just brought the whole revolution feel to a another level. I tell ya, it's hard to dance with props, and even when it's just waving a flag, you still gotta give credit.

These guys need a bigger and more flashy stage. Instead of a small one with their group name flashing on a screen behind them. I mean, even that SISTAR girls got a bigger stage than these Veterans. That's not fair :o(

Bye Bye Hollywood Beauty Olive Creme....Hello S-Curl!!! (Review)

I'm a transitioning girl, which means i'm trying to let my hair grow natural while still having relaxed ends. I didn't have clue about ANYTHING when it came to natural hair until I went on Hairlista.com and LongHairCareForum.com. Those forums should come together and make a Natural Hair Bible lol. From all of the things I learned from them, I started to make a regimen for my hair. My moisturizer of choice was Hollywood Beauty Olive Creme. What a bad choice that was....
My hair is dry and brittle due to the relaxers I've used for about 16 years of my life and all the heat I put on it when I was waiting to put braids in my hair. So I understand that much. Heck, I might even have SCAB HAIR....*sigh* I really don't want scab hair, but that's going from what i'm trying to explain lol. My hair is DRY, so i'm constantly trying to keep moisture in it with cowashing, moisturizing and sealing, and oils in my hair on shampoo wash days. But even with all of that my hair was STILL dry and brittle. So I did what any natural hair girl would do.

I started taking things out of my regimen.

I used Ecostyler gel once, and my hair got crazy dry at the end of the day, so I took that out and haven't used it since. I wanted to see if it was the gel doing that to my hair. In the end, my hair was still dry.

I took out my humidity milk from Garnier Fructis. STILL DRY.

I did a deep condition with my Garnier Fructis Conditioner and Hot Six Oil. DRY DRY DRY.

I bought a cholesterol. Soft at the beginning, but dry at the end. So I mixed my suave conditioner with the cholesterol (which is also from Hollywood Beauty by the way). No help there.

So, it came to the point where all I had left to change was my conditioner, leave in conditioner, moisturizer, sealer, and shampoo.

So I changed my moisturizer. The reason why I ditched this one first is because HB Olive Creme made my hair crazy greasy. No matter how little I used, I still had greasy hair. So I went to Walgreens and bought S-Curl (#2 on Hairlista's Top 10 Moisturizer list after Wave Nouveau). It was $5.59 or something. So I came home, cowashed my hair, put in a leave in conditioner, moisturized and sealed my hair in sections, then started putting my hair in twists (which is a protective style).

Touching my hair now, my new growth feels softer and not crunchy like when I use the Olive Creme. But the real test is tomorrow when I do a twist out. Hopefully S-Curl didn't do me wrong, because it feels good now. It's not greasy, my NG doesn't feel dry and dehydrated. It's a big step up from HB lol.

So final result:

STAY AWAY FROM HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY CREME. Don't even LOOK at it. But heck, it may work for you because all hair is different. But seriously, you might as well spend an extra $2 on S-Curl, because it's reputable.

But believe me, i'm still going to start chuckin' out some other products. The next one to go is my John Frieda Root Awakening Nourishing Shampoo. But that is for another post lol.

Obsession With Pink Lenses

OMG....I have to have them. Pink Circle Lenses. Let me say that one more time.

PINK CIRCLE LENSES!!!!!

I'm crying right now, I don't know if you can tell. But look at it. LOOK AT IT! Who would have ever thought fashion and accessories would come so far lol. I was actually waiting for these too. Lenses have been going crazy lately. The last weird one I saw were the contacts with rhinestones on them. Can we say uncomfortable? So why not pink, huh? Why not? Thank goodness someone read my mind.

But ever since I saw these all i've been dreaming about is pink circle lenses and how bad I want them. It's only fair that I get them, right? So I can satisfy my conscience :o)

Who What Where And....Wait, Huh?

I've never been a girly girl. I'm serious! Ever since I could remember, I was always kicking around a ball, my outfit of choice were jeans, t-shirt, and some Keds, and my favorite color was black. I was picked on in school for not being pretty, I was a guys' best friend (but isn't that supposed to be entitled to puppies and stuff?) That was my life... Don't get me wrong, I had my crushes on guys (but never told them), had my dreams of fairytale romances (but never admitted to them), envied girls who wore skirts and shorts (bc I thought my thighs were huge). I wished and wished and wished for something in me to change. That I became pretty and girly. That boys would look at me and go wow.

When I turned 17, I think that was the beginning of my tranformation. I bought my first eyeliner, I became a lipgloss addict. I started wearing shirts that made my figure noticable.....bbbbuuuutttt I was going through my "Emo Phase". Yes, you heard me right. My EMO PHASE. I wore the band shirts, the black eyeshadow, eyeliner. I was into Screamo, Metal, Hardcore, Punk, and the Suicide Girls....Yea, I was one of those kids. But I never did the whole "I'm Depressed, I'm going to kill myself tonight" thing. So maybe I was in a Faux Emo Phase. I just dressed the part I guess hahaha. You know you remember that emo pose hahaha.

But then I after my little months of black and bands....I hit this weird plateau. Something came together, I don't know how, but my looks started to change, I started to like the color pink lol, I wanted pretty earrings, and was getting french acrylic full sets. I bought my first pair of heels and wore a skirt and a dress for the first time in years. I began to get looks and boys asked me out. How weird that it took up to 19 years for me to get what I wanted. But I was as self concious as ever. Yea, I was an average maybe below average pretty. But there would always be girls that made sure to tell me that they were prettier. I wasn't used to females being all high and mighty and THREATENED when it came to me lol.

Then at 19, I packed all my goodies and moved to Los Angeles, CA. Oh No, not to become a singer or a star, but to go to school. At this time I already changed my major like 4 times and had settled on Asian Studies. So why not go to the place where the Asian population was off the charts hehehe. That year in a half that I lived in CA was the best year, well, almost 2 years of my life. I had become a totally different person. I was outgoing, a talker, I smiled nonstop, I was learning Korean (which is my love when it comes to languages). I fell in love for the first time with a guy from one of my classes. It was the first time I felt so at home in my own skin. Out of FL was the best decision I ever made. I was able to be myself. My TRUE self.

The spring of 2009, I got accepted into UCSB, my dream school. The excitement that filled me when I got that admittance letter. I cried, literally. I was back in Florida on vacation, setting up to go back when I found out that I couldn't go. Though I lived in California, I wasn't a resident, and wouldn't be a resident until my Senior year of college (that's what the school told me). So my tuition was $40,000, and I couldn't afford it because there was no one to help me. For the first two years, I had taken care of myself with school. My tuition was always covered thanks to FAFSA, I paid for my own books and all other fees. I never asked anyone for help. If you can do it yourself, you SHOULD do it yourself. But the one time I did ask for help, I ended up disappointed and throwing away my admittance letter.

Such events help you develop as a person. Small or Big, things can change your whole demeanor. So because of that, for some reason, I became closed off again. I went back to being shy, no personality. I watched what I said and tried not to disappoint. But I became extremely protective over my brothers so they would never have to feel that heartbreak that I did. Having the urge to runaway, once again, I applied to school within Florida, go accepted into the school that was the farthest away from home (and had the only Asian Studies Program in the state) and moved. Now that i'm here, i'm changing again. I'm becoming more developed as a person, slowly turning into the person I want to be. I'm still shy and not as outgoing, but i'm starting to have interests in things I didn't before. I'm starting to take more effort into my appearance and becoming a GIRL lol. I'm shaping myself up for the long run.

So now, I love my school. I love my major. I love that I'm still learning languages and figuring out my future. I'm happy, thank god. Well not as happy as I was in LA, but once everything settles down here, and I feel okay where I am...Everything will work out for me.

This blog, as conceited as this sounds hahahaha, is about me. My likes, my dislikes, my raving, my loving, my obsessions, my everything. A blog is almost like a diary, no? So let me share with you!
